This is a graphic, all-over print t-shirt featuring Basquiat's artwork Jawbone of an Ass.
About the artwork: This piece by Jean-Michel Basquiat combines clippings of drawings and notes to explore and link his interest in Ancient Egypt to more contemporary Creole culture. He also includes references to other periods of history, most notably slavery, to contextualize the oppression and alienation faced by people of color over time. Using words and symbols, Basquiat represents elements of his cultural heritage as a social commentary on racial segregation and alienation.
