About the artwork: Robert Indiana’s image LOVE belongs to his most well-known series of artworks and is widely recognized as an icon of twentieth century contemporary art. Indiana first created his trademarked stacked “LO” and “VE” in the mid 1960s, and this image became a central theme in his work through his exploration of different colors and forms.
