NTWRK and Rome Pays Off Launch Exclusive Capsule

Video shopping app NTWRK teamed up with contemporary artist-inspired fashion and lifestyle brand Rome Pays Off to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Ox with the work of Ai Weiwei for a new capsule collection.

To commemorate The Year of the Ox, Rome Pays Off launched the first pieces in their Ai Weiwei collaboration featuring the Ox artwork from his two-dimensional Zodiac Lego series.

The NTWRK drop was broadcast live from Pace Prints’ Chelsea gallery in New York City on February 12, 2021 at 12pm EST. The drop was a resounding success, selling out on NTWRK – similar to previous drops Rome Pays Off has hosted on the platform.

Created with thousands of LEGO bricks representing each of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, the series resonates well beyond the art world. The drop on NTWRK introduced Ai Weiwei’s blend of art and activism to a younger generation that shares his progressive values and defiant spirit.

Rome Pays Off CEO Christina Burns says, "We're honored to be working with artist and activist Ai Weiwei, as we have tremendous respect for his work and values.

"We felt now was the ideal time to drop the collection on NTWRK to celebrate the resurgence of culture as cities reopen and lockdowns lift. We are looking forward to this new year with optimism and, like the characteristics associated with the ox, recognize the resiliency we’ve all earned from this past year."
