About the artwork: Untitled (1981)—a large scale painting done in acrylic and oilstick on canvas—is in the Broad collection in Los Angeles. This work is one of several large-scale paintings focused on the human skull by the late artist, whose interest in human anatomy started in childhood and is present throughout his career.
