About the artwork: After his Great American Nude series, Wesselmann revisited isolated forms (as seen in his Mouth series) to create a more intimate, closeup exploration of nudity in his Bedroom Painting series. Parts of the human body (a foot in this work) are placed alongside objects which can be found in the bedroom - in this case, flowers, a blanket, and an orange.
